About Me
I have been working in the mental health field directly for the last four years. Prior to that I was working in a juvenile justice facility outside of Minden, NV. I worked there between 2016-2021 providing support services, skills training, CBT and motivational interview to incarcerated youth between the ages of 12-18 years old. The clients there taught me a lot about empathy, struggle and perseverance. I learned so much from each of them and it is my greatest hope that they gained something from working with me as well. It was during this experience that I decided that I wanted to pursue licensure as a therapist. I knew from interacting with them that I wanted to learn about mental health from the family therapy perspective.

Since then I have had the honor of working with clients of all ages in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have worked with clients struggling with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD and related disorders, substance abuse disorders and with individuals experiencing psychosis. I have received specialized training in Brainspotting, Gottman Couples Therapy and substance abuse disorders. I have rich experience that I believe will be highly supportive to those that I am working with.

I have a direct approach to counseling and believe that knowledge is pivotal to people being able to make informed decisions about their health. I use psychoeducation and talk therapy approaches in conjunction with somatic interventions to address the concerns that clients walk through the door with. Research also shows that most of the success that individuals have in therapy comes from their relationship with the therapist so I believe in showing up authentically in my sessions.
