Meet the Team
I am pleased to introduce you to our therapy team in Reno, NV.

Therapist/Clinical Director
Dallis Bernaix, LMFT, CADC-P
Laughing and talking about your favorite things are two of my favorite ways to engage in the therapeutic process. I believe that if you can find space to laugh and highlight joy then healing will follow. Therapy is serious work and it can be fun. I hope to provide a space where you can be you and I would be honored if this was that space.
As for that serious note, I have been working in the mental health field directly for the last four years. Prior to that I was working in a juvenile justice facility outside of Minden, NV. I worked there between 2016-2021 providing support services, skills training, CBT and motivational interview to incarcerated youth between the ages of 12-18 years old. The clients there taught me a lot about empathy, struggle and perseverance. I learned so much from each of them and it is my greatest hope that they gained something from working with me as well. It was through this experience that I decided that I wanted to pursue licensure as a therapist. I knew from interacting with them that I wanted to engage in family systems based work because often this is the missing piece for young people that connection and ability to connect with their families.

Since then I have had the honor of working with clients of all ages in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have worked with clients struggling with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD and related disorders, substance abuse disorders and with individuals experiencing psychosis. I have received specialized training in Brainspotting, EMDR, CPT and Gottman Couples Therapy and substance abuse disorders. I have rich experience that I believe will be highly supportive to those that I am working with.

I have a direct approach to counseling and believe that knowledge is pivotal to people being able to make informed decisions about their health. I use psychoeducation and talk therapy approaches in conjunction with somatic interventions to address the concerns that clients walk through the door with. Research also shows that most of the success that individuals have in therapy comes from their relationship with the therapist so I believe in showing up authentically in my sessions.

My desire is to help those who are struggling in life, anyone who ever felt like they had no one around them or ever felt like they couldn't make it one more day, and those who felt alone and didn't know if that feeling would ever go away. We have all been there at one point in time and its ok to say "Hey I need help", I strive to show anyone who does come to me that there is a journey that can be had with our mental health, and sometimes the journey can be fun and exciting and sometimes It can be terrifying, whichever path we choose to take though we do not have to take it alone.

I currently am a newly licensed MFT-I and CADC -I (fancy words for substance use counselor intern). I have been working in crisis for over a year and have worked with Substance use recovery, Behavioral health stabilization, Psychosocial rehabilitation as well as, Relationship dynamics and Family intervention. And even more.

I understand that reaching out can be hard, especially when we think about where we come from and what those values have taught us about who we are, but hope is not lost, if you are willing we can learn and grow on this journey together, and who knows what we may find at the end of it.
